Step 2: Apply for the Internship You Want

Student Application Process

Once a student finds an internship, they should apply for it through the company that offered the internship.

Step 3: Fill Out the Initial Information Sheet (IIS)

Initial Information Sheet

The Initial Information Sheet (IIS) should be turned into the Weidman Center once it is completed. Once it has been reveiwed, the Weidman Center will forward the IIS to your College Internship Coordinator for review.

Steps 4a and 4b: Obtain College and Kennedy Center Approval

Kennedy Center Application

The Student applies through the Kennedy Center portal and begins the International Studies Program (ISP) checklist.

College Approval

The student must contact the Faculty Coordinator associated with their program for approval and sign a Syllabus Overview. Once these two steps are completed, the Coordinator signs and sends the IIS to the Kennedy Center.

Step 5: Kennedy Center Accepts Application

Kennedy Center Acceptance

The Student applies through the Kennedy Center portal and begins the International Studies Program (ISP) checklist.

Step 6: Receive a Permission to Add Code

Permission To Add

Once the application has been approved, the College Internship Coordinator gives the student a permission-to-add code. The student can then register for the internship course(s).

Step 7: Receive a Scholarship

Weidman Scholarship

Finally, after a student is registered for an internship course, the Weidman Center issues that student a scholarship.
